About us
  "Capitalism is transparency"

The Finance Foundation was formed in 1997 as a non-profit, action-orientated think-tank. It promotes useful, constructive debate on the global capital market being created around Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East.

In spite of some progress over the past five years, the European capital market has yet to achieve its full potential in the global capital market. It could be the backbone of a dynamic European economy. Instead, it is under-performing, both in terms of quantity and quality.

Our Aims :
  • The Finance Foundation supports the European Commission in its endeavours to create a single European capital market.
  • It campaigns for lower costs and prices and greater transparency in the interests of users, issuers and all investors, be they institutional or private.
Our Tools :

The Finance Foundation is a forum for practical propositions on the construction of a more efficient European capital market.
  • It organises regular, high-level meetings between finance practitioners, financial regulators, legislators and academics.
  • It presents its findings to policy-makers and to the public via the media and a regular “blog”.
